Welcome to Sunflower Farm!
Sunflower Farm is located near Tamworth in Eastern Ontario (Canada.) Our farm is made up of 150 acres of woods and ponds with cleared land around our home where we grow an amazing assortment of vegetables as well as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and apples. Our most important crop is garlic – last year we grew about 300 lbs of hardneck garlic!
This year we’ve decided to run a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). As part of the CSA model, we are inviting local consumers to purchase a share of our harvest. Every week, for about 16 weeks, members will receive a box of vegetables from our garden. We expect to start this in late June, depending on the weather, and run until October. We plan on offering a wide selection of vegetables as well as some fruits such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. We’ll provide recipes each week to help you to enjoy the vegetables in your box. From time to time, we’ll surprise you with some eggs or some baked goods too!
We are going to limit the number of members this year, in order to ensure that we provide a good quantity and good selection of vegetables.
The cost to be a member this year will be $450. We would like to receive 1/2 of this amount by May 1st and the second half no later than July 1st. A limited number of half-shares will also be available.
If you would like to become a member of our CSA this year, please let me know as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the CSA, please feel free to email or call me (613-539-2831).
Once we have finalized our members, we’ll be able to organize a drop off/delivery schedule.
